Cub Christmas Camp 2016

Over the weekend of 26-27 November 2016 the Cubs had their annual Autumn camp at the Colgate campsite. The theme of the camp was a festive one.

We used Gummy’s (the hut at the campsite) due to the unpredictable weather at this time of year. The leaders decorated it with Christmas decorations, including Santa coming down the chimney.

The Cubs hiked to the campsite and once there and having had lunch followed various trails around the campsite, following clues to get a prize. Christmas gifts and decorations were made by the Cubs followed by a Christmas meal of turkey, roast and mashed potatoes, sprouts, carrots and broccoli. The evening closed with a campfire, songs, stories and fun.

After a good nights sleep, breakfast was served, followed by all the Cubs testing their communication skill, not using a mobile phone, but using semaphore, which proved interesting and challenging, this was followed by more traditional activities, pinned a nose on a reindeer and firing a beanbag from a ballista.

Finally tents and kit were packed away and a group of tired and grubby Cubs went home.
