Following an appeal for help to deep clean their headquarters, 1st Roffey Scout Group received a call from Saxon Weald offering their assistance as part of their “Make a difference project”, which saw teams from across the company helping the wider community for a morning. A workforce of volunteers including tradespersons spent the whole morning washing down walls, floors, cupboards, toilets and the kitchen area as well as testing all the portable appliances for electrical safety and undertaking loads of small DIY type jobs such as easing doors that wouldn’t shut and re-fixing door handles that had come adrift. Additional cleaning materials were provided by Brewers and Nisbets. In addition, they used their contacts to acquire new roller blinds for the whole building (courtesy of David Phillips), presented a new wet/dry vacuum cleaner, an LCD projector (courtesy of Chess ICT) and two replacement kettles for those that failed the PAT test in the morning. They also had help on the day from Catering Academy and Cleanscapes. Their generosity is greatly appreciated and underlines the support for Scouting in Horsham District from the business community. Thank you Saxon Weald from all at 1st Roffey Scout Group.
