Happy 100th Birthday to Scouting

10 October 2011
This year Scouting has turned 100 years old.  The Scout movement was first set up in 1907 by Lord Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell.  it was in 1907 that Robert Baden-Powel held the first Scout camp.  This was held on Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Scouting, a centenary camp is being held by most Districts on the same weekend that Baden-Powel had the first camp on.
